Anonymous Houseplants
These paintings are about the overlooked objects that recede into the background of our lives.
During my long weeks of convalescence from chemotherapy treatment, I saw my houseplants in a new light. These plants that could not survive Minnesota winters on their own, are small wonders that we take for granted.
These paintings are an ode to the beauty of the mundane houseplant. In my house they may have become dusty fixtures, but here I have recast them into dazzling compositions.
